Job summary

J.W. Pepper & Sons, Inc. is hiring for an order picker in our distribution center. The role involves quickly and accurately filling customer orders, cross-training in shipping, stocking, and inventory control, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with seasonal overtime and weekend shifts. Starting wage is $17.00 per hour, with pre-employment screenings required.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-hire screenings including background checks and drug tests.
• Starting wage $17.00 per hour; 30-day probationary period.
• Able to lift 30+ lbs frequently; stand/walk for extended periods; twist, stoop, bend, squat and reach.

Responsibilities

• Pick ordered items from correct bin locations using barcodes and item numbers.
• Verify item and quantity ordered.
• Place items into shipping boxes or totes; repack boxes to fit size when needed.
• Perform regular shelf maintenance and ensure product quality.
• Operate RF scanner and follow safety protocols; meet production standards during peak season.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist with basic inventory tasks.
