KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Warehouse Ops & Device Services Supervisor is primarily responsible for warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and warehouse safety/OSHA compliance. The role also oversees Device Service Activities performed by the mechanical technicians, including confirmatory testing on received product and device refurbishment or routine maintenance according to the company's policies and procedures.
Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Management
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipping/receiving operations for all product lines and parts.
- Ensure accurate inventory counts, proper documentation, and timely processing of shipments.
- Apply First-In-First-Out (FIFO) inventory rotation practices for disposables and any products with expiration dating.
- Maintain organized, accurate records to support lot traceability and, where applicable, recall readiness.
- Manage inventory status/location for product awaiting confirmatory testing, in quarantine, or cleared for stock (physical segregation and system status, per company procedure).
Equipment Management
Own the upkeep and condition of all equipment used in warehouse operations and device service activities, including:
- Forklifts / powered industrial trucks
- Tools, fixtures, and equipment used by mechanical technicians for confirmatory testing and refurbishment/maintenance work
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs/servicing (in-house or via outside vendors) to keep equipment in safe, working condition.
- Maintain equipment inspection, certification, and service records (e.g., forklift inspections) to support OSHA compliance and audit readiness.
- Track equipment inventory, condition, and useful life; recommend repair vs. replacement as needed.
Warehouse Safety & OSHA Compliance
- Serve as the warehouse's point person for OSHA-related rules and regulations governing the equipment listed above (forklifts, pallet lifts, rolling stairs, racking) plus loading dock operations (dock plates, dock locks, trailer safety).
- Ensure staff are trained and, where required, certified on equipment before operating it.
- Conduct or coordinate routine safety inspections and maintain related documentation.
- Maintain a safe, organized warehouse environment consistent with OSHA general industry standards.
Device Service Activities
- Oversee the day-to-day work of the mechanical technicians performing:
- Confirmatory testing.
- Device refurbishment and maintenance.
- Ensure technicians complete protocols in full, on schedule, and per documented procedure.
- Maintain device service records/logs (refurbishment, maintenance, protocol completion tracking) to support traceability.
- Flag incomplete, inconsistent, or overdue protocol work to the Product Test Engineer and Director of Quality/RA as needed.
- Coordinate scheduling/workload of the mechanical technicians between confirmatory testing and refurbishment/maintenance work based on shipment and inventory needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise mechanical technicians and warehouse staff/laborers.
- Assign daily work, monitor performance, and provide coaching/feedback.
- Coordinate scheduling to ensure adequate shipping/receiving and device service coverage.
Note:
This supervisor directs the technicians' work assignment, schedule, and performance, but does not have quality-release authority over the technicians' confirmatory testing output.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations; experience coordinating or working alongside technical/QC staff is a plus (medical device or regulated-product environment strongly preferred).
- Prior experience supervising or leading a small team.
- Working knowledge of OSHA warehouse safety requirements (forklifts, dock safety, racking, ladders/stairs).
- Experience coordinating equipment maintenance, inspections, or vendor service relationships (e.g., forklifts, pallet lifts, or similar material-handling/technical equipment) preferred.
- Familiarity with FIFO inventory practices, particularly for expiration-dated and disposable products.
- Comfort coordinating documentation-heavy technical workflows (confirmatory testing protocols, refurbishment records).
- Familiarity with basic quality system concepts (quarantine, nonconforming product, traceability) helpful; formal quality certification not required for this role given the segregation-of-duties structure.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant certifications (logistics, safety, or operations) a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate warehouse equipment for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment (temperature variation, dock areas, etc.).
WORKING CONDITIONS
- On-site, full-time position based in the Phoenixville, PA warehouse facility.
- May require occasional flexibility in hours to accommodate shipment schedules.
COMPENSATION
- $70,000.00 per year commensurate with experience
