Job summary

Central Steel & Wire is seeking a Warehouse Operator on the 3rd shift (11pm–7:30am) to pick, stage, and pack material for shipments. You will operate sit-down or side loader forklifts and handle SAP work orders for shipping/receiving, with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.

Onboarding includes enrollment in an approved apprenticeship program. The role includes benefits per company policy and opportunities for career growth within the Ryerson family.

Qualifications

• Must pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer.
• Physical ability to pass vision, hearing and mobility tests.
• Onboarding includes enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Packaging material to customer requirements.
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift as needed.
• Completing paperwork and SAP work order confirmations for shipping/receiving.
• Maximizing productivity for finished goods creation.
• Other duties as assigned or as business needs change.

As a Warehouse Operator at Central Steel & Wire, you will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment.

This position is 3rd shift. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 11pm - 7:30am.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding and new hire training

Salary: $22.92 - 26.12 per hour. A starting salary higher than $22.92 per hour is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
