Job summary

Central Steel & Wire, part of the Ryerson Family of Companies, invites you to join as a Warehouse Operator B on 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 4:00pm–12:00am). You will stage, pack and pick material for shipments using correct equipment, with on-the-job SAP and paperwork responsibilities.

The role offers apprenticeship onboarding, basic math and computer skills expectations, and a focus on safety and accuracy in a dynamic metals environment.

Qualifications

• Skills-based assessment covering reading, math, inspection and measurement, attention to detail and problem solving.
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Basic math skills are required.
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer.
• Physical ability to pass a vision, hearing and mobility exam.
• Enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program during onboarding and training.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Packaging material to customer requirements.
• Operate sit-down or side loader forklift to move material.
• Complete SAP work orders and paperwork for shipping/receiving.
• Maximize productivity for finished goods creation.

As a Warehouse Operator B at Central Steel & Wire, you will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment.

This position is 2nd shift. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 4:00pm to 12:00am.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements
