Job summary

Central Steel & Wire, part of the Ryerson Family of Companies, is seeking a Warehouse Operator B for 2nd shift (4:00pm–12:00am). The role involves day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment, within a dynamic, quality-driven environment.

You will join an apprenticeship onboarding program, with opportunities for hands-on training and career development in the metals industry. This is a full-time on-site position offering a pathway into the Ryerson family.<\/p>

Qualifications

• Pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement.
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred.
• Basic math skills and basic computer skills required.
• Physical ability to pass vision, hearing, and mobility requirements exam.
• Enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Pick and stage feedstock for fulfillment orders and prepare for shipment.
• Break down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Package material to customer requirements.
• Operate sit-down or stand-up forklift and move material as needed.
• Complete SAP work orders and shipping/receiving documentation accurately.
• Maintain maximum productivity for finished goods creation.

As a Warehouse Operator B at Central Steel & Wire, you will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment.

This position is 2nd shift. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 4:00pm to 12:00am.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements
