Job summary

Central Steel & Wire, part of the Ryerson Family of Companies, is seeking a Warehouse Operator for the 3rd shift in the United States. You will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment. The role runs Monday–Friday, 11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

• Must pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection, and problem-solving.
• Minimum 2 years of similar material handling experience preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills required.
• Physical ability to pass vision, hearing, and mobility requirements.
• Enrollment in a registered apprenticeship during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Pick and stage feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Break down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Package material to customer requirements.
• Operate sit-down or side loader forklift as needed.
• Complete SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.
• Maintain maximum productivity for finished goods.
• Other duties as assigned.

As a Warehouse Operator at Central Steel & Wire, you will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment.

This position is 3rd shift. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 11pm - 7:30am.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding and new hire training

Salary: $22.92 - 26.12 per hour. A starting salary higher than $22.92 per hour is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
