Job summary

Central Steel & Wire is hiring a Warehouse Operator B to handle day-to-day staging, packing, and picking of material for shipments on the 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 4:00pm–12:00am). You’ll use sit-down or side loader forklifts and ensure accurate SAP documentation for shipping and receiving.

Successful candidates will undergo a registered apprenticeship program as part of onboarding, with prerequisites including basic math and reading skills, and a background in material handling.

Qualifications

• Reading, math, inspection and measurement skills required.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities needed.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to use SAP for shipping/receiving.
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred.
• Successful candidates will enroll in a registered apprenticeship program.

As a Warehouse Operator B at Central Steel & Wire, you will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment.

This position is 2nd shift. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 4:00pm to 12:00am.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding and new hire training
