Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is seeking crew members to support material handling and distribution in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include sorting, stacking, operating a forklift, and assembling customer orders while maintaining safe, organized workspaces.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and communicate effectively with customers and teammates. High school diploma or GED preferred; training provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate in an uncontrolled climate and outdoor elements.

Responsibilities

• Sort and place materials according to size, type, style, or product code.
• Operate a forklift to move materials as required.
• Perform physical activities including bending, reaching, and kneeling.
• Assemble customer orders and place in shipping/holding area.
• Assist in unloading/loading customers and performing inventory checks.
• Support in filling work/shipping orders; maintain tidy work areas.
• Handle general duties to support the organization.

What You'll Do

• Sort and place materials and items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code
• Operate a forklift to move material and supplies as required
• Perform a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, pushing, reaching, bending over, climbing, and kneeling
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders in appropriate shipping/holding area
• Assist in unloading and loading customers
• Assist in performing inventory on materials
• Assist in filling work/shipping orders
• Maintain work area and location organized and clean for orderliness at all times
• Other duties as assigned in general support of the organization

What You'll Need

• Minimum 1 year experience in construction and or manufacturing environment
• Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders
• Great organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
• Ability to work in uncontrolled climate environment and in the elements
• Able to operate hand tools
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
