Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) seeks a sturdy, safety-conscious team member for yard operations at our Knoxville-area facility. You will perform daily yard checks, load orders onto trailers with overhead cranes, and work outdoors with heavy loads while following CMC safety programs.

The role requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This position may involve rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in temperature extremes, chemical exposure, dust, fumes, and loud environments.
• Basic computer skills and dependability in attendance and task completion.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be able to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily yard checks for pre-loaded trailers and coordinate with carriers on delivery status.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping using overhead cranes.
• Work outdoors, operate equipment, and maintain safety practices per CMC programs.
• Communicate production issues, concerns, and needs with team members.
• Ensure shift reports and equipment inspection forms are completed.

What You'll Do

• Daily yard check for pre-loaded trailers and following up with carriers on delivery status of trailers
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping using overhead cranes
• Ability to work outside and lift heavy loads.
• Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
• Effectively communicate with others aboutpossible productionissues, concerns, and needs
• Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
• Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
• Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge, experience, and communication with others
• Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by always following safety rules and regulations including proper wearing of company PPE

Your Education
