Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is seeking a team-oriented associate to support production and shipping operations in a fast-paced environment. You will participate in safety programs, communicate issues, and help with order assembly and material movements across the facility.

You will operate warehouse equipment, assist with handling and shipping, and maintain clean, safe work areas while supporting production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience preferred or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold the Safety Culture.
• Communicate production issues, concerns, and needs clearly.
• Perform daily housekeeping and organization of work areas.
• Troubleshoot problems using knowledge and teamwork.
• Operate mobile equipment (forklifts, cranes) and warehouse gear.
• Assemble and move customer orders to shipping/holding areas.
• Assist in filling and processing work and shipping orders.
• Ensure timely and accurate material movements to support production schedules.

What You'll Do

• Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
• Effectively communicate with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
• Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
• Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
• Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by always following safety rules and regulations including proper wearing of company PPE
• Operate mobile equipment such as Forklifts, overhead cranes, etc
• Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanners
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders in appropriate shipping/holding area
• Assist in filling work/shipping orders
• Ensure orders and material movements are processed accurately and on time to support production and shipping schedules
• Assist in scanning/ loading trucks and rail when assistance is needed.

What You'll Need

• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
• Demonstrate dependability in attendance, work completions, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
• Some overtime will be required
• Willingness to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk for extended periods
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to stand for duration of a shift, up to 12 hours; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift
• Able and willing to cross train as required

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
