Job summary

Design Within Reach, part of MillerKnoll, seeks an Operations Team Lead to coordinate daily shift activities in a warehouse setting. You will help meet safety, quality, and cost goals and back up the supervisor while guiding teams to fulfill customer expectations.

The role requires hands-on WMS experience, prior team-lead roles, and knowledge of inbound/outbound processes. Strong communication and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to support daily operations, reporting, and workflow execution.
• Prior Team Lead or Acting Supervisor experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Working knowledge of inbound, outbound, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving operations.
• Experience reading, understanding, and applying SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Experience operating or overseeing the operation of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and conveyor systems.
• Experience leading shift handoffs and daily start up meetings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Back up the Operations Supervisor in their absence.
• Ensure team members, including temporary employees, understand job instructions, safety requirements, and quality guidelines.
• Identify, document, and develop solution(s) to workflow problems and issues.
• Lead and coordinate all teams and/or activities for the shift to ensure safety, quality, customer expectations, and cost objectives are met.
• Provide the Operations Supervisor with feedback on team member performance.
• Report on customer service, employee safety, equipment, or facility issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Review daily team assignments to ensure that each team is staffed appropriately.
• Update and maintain the schedule to meet customer demand/expectation and/or any information tracking for reports and spreadsheets.
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
