Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor in Stockton, CA, to supervise and coordinate activities of workers handling ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials in the stockroom, warehouse, or yard. Responsibilities include planning workloads, scheduling inbound/outbound shipments, and ensuring safety and efficiency.

The role reports to the Operations team and directly supervises 20+ employees, with duties ranging from staffing to procedure updates and payroll

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED requirement.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews inbound appointment log and open order report daily to plan work activities.
• Plans inbound and outbound schedules to meet customer metrics.
• Determines staffing needs based on workload and schedules staff accordingly.
• Assigns workers to specific duties based on workload and shipping schedules.
• Reviews and updates operational procedures and ensures communication to warehouse staff.
• Tracks productivity and evaluates performance by individual, function, and department.
• Works with Inventory Control to ensure high inventory accuracy.
• Manages payroll of the department.
• Advises employees on handling of items received, stored, and shipped and related equipment use.
• Traces discrepancies between inventory and stock records and recommends remedial actions.
• Determines work procedures, prepares schedules, and expedites workflow.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Ensures proper safety procedures are followed.
• Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
