Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor in Stockton, CA to oversee ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping of materials. You will coordinate 20+ employees on a 2nd shift, manage payroll, ensure safety, and drive operational efficiency to meet customer metrics.

You will work with inventory control to maximize accuracy, communicate procedures, and resolve discrepancies, while maintaining positive team relations and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in warehouse operations or similar settings.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and supervise staff based on workload.

Responsibilities

• Reviews inbound appointment log and open order report to plan work activities.
• Plans inbound and outbound schedules to meet customer metrics.
• Determines staffing needs and schedules staff accordingly.
• Assigns workers based on workload and shipping schedules.
• Communicates updated procedures to warehouse associates.
• Tracks productivity and evaluates performance by individual and department.
• Works with Inventory Control to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Manages payroll for the department.
• Advises staff on item handling, equipment use, and safety.
• Traces item history to resolve stock discrepancies and recommends remedial actions.
• Determines work procedures, prepares schedules, and expedites workflow.
• Issues instructions, both written and oral.
• Ensures safety procedures are followed.
• Maintains harmony and resolves grievances.
