Job summary

The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County is hiring an Operations Assistant to support daily warehouse operations at the North County Sharehouse in Santa Maria, CA. You will help with food distribution, donations, labeling, and inventory control to ensure safety and efficiency.

Work is Monday–Friday, 6:45 am–3:15 pm with occasional overtime and some Saturdays. This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site position with a $22.00/hour rate, paid bi-weekly.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of related industrial warehouse experience.
• Experience operating refrigerated box trucks under 26,000 lbs GVW.
• Strong organization and time management; able to juggle multiple orders per shift.
• Experience with inventory control processes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Enforce, support and carry-out Foodbank policies and procedures as they relate to position.
• Maintain accessible and organized pallet placement in the warehouse and cooler/freezer.
• Assist Partner Services in meeting agency delivery needs, scheduling options, and general routing.
• Assist agency representatives with their pickup appointments, prioritizing customer service.
• Accurately field, pick, and stage multiple orders throughout the day.
• Assist with inventory control activities, such as cycle counts and month-end inventory.
• Participate in workplace safety meetings and trainings.
• Pickup food donations from various locations for delivery to the Foodbank.
• Ensure all items are stored and distributed safely per ServSafe and health dept requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance of forklifts, delivery trucks, buildings and grounds.
• Take on other duties as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor; support weekend/after-hours rotations.
• Operate forklifts and large delivery trucks as part of distribution.
