Job summary

Foodbank of Santa Barbara County in Santa Maria, CA seeks a dedicated Operations Assistant to support daily warehouse operations at the North County Sharehouse. You will help with food distribution, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with health and sanitation codes.

This full-time, non-exempt role offers a 40-hour workweek, 6:45 am to 3:15 pm, with occasional overtime and Saturdays. The position pays $22.00 per hour, with bi-weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• One year or more of related industrial warehouse experience.
• Ability to operate refrigerated box trucks under 26,000 lbs GVW (no CDL).
• Strong organization and time management; handle multiple orders per shift.
• Experience with inventory control processes.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Enforce, support and carry-out Foodbank policies and procedures as they relate to position.
• Maintain accessible and organized pallet placement in the warehouse and cooler/freezer.
• Assist Partner Services in meeting agency delivery needs, scheduling options, and routing.
• Assist agency representatives with their pick up appointments, prioritizing customer service.
• Accurately field, pick, and stage multiple orders throughout the day.
• Assist with cycle counts and month end inventory.
• Participate in safety meetings and trainings; contribute to organization-wide sessions.
• Pickup food donations for delivery to the Foodbank as instructed.
• Ensure items are handled and stored safely per ServSafe and health requirements.
• Operate forklifts and large delivery trucks as part of distribution.
