Job summary

Penn Terminals, Inc. is seeking a proactive supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment. You will manage 15–20 union employees handling container packing/unpacking, loading, and inventory control, combining administrative, managerial, and operational duties.

The role emphasizes safety compliance, performance reporting, and cross-department coordination with logistics and procurement to ensure smooth cargo handling and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3+ year’s supervisor experience in a union environment.
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Problem solving and analytical skills, as well as a strong attention to detail
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to delegate and enforce company policy
• Knowledge of workplace safety and accident prevention regulations.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of union checkers and heavy equipment operators.
• Effective warehouse planning and inventory control.
• Overseeing the loading and unloading of cargo onto and from vessels, trucks, and other transport modes.
• Enforcement of internal operating policies and safety procedures.
• Interacting with the customers on a daily basis and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Supervise and lead a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
• Ensure that all warehouse activities comply with safety regulations and guidelines.
• Prepare reports on warehouse performance, such as productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as logistics, procurement, and production, to facilitate smooth operations.
• Managing container inventories and optimizing container utilization.
• Coordinating and providing timely information to vessel operators about cargo status and availability.
• All other duties as assigned
