Job summary

Victaulic is seeking an Operations Clerk for our Bristol, VA warehouse to support material handling, shipping/receiving, and quality inspection. You will load/unload trucks, move staged materials, perform quality checks, and assist in inventory control while maintaining safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 lbs, operating forklifts, and potential weekend/overtime shifts as business needs demand.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, shipping paperwork, and production documentation.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and technical skills required.
• Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and basic measuring devices.
• Ability to use a computer for data entry, forms, and shipment processing.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience operating pallet jacks and material handling equipment preferred.
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Follow directions and safety/work instructions.
• Ensure production meets established quality standards.
• Be a team player and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Operate PIVs (fork trucks, pallet jacks, walk-behind stackers) and industrial wrappers; load/unload trucks.
• Receive and load trucks; move staged material between buildings; pick/pack/load/unload using a forklift.
• Perform quality inspections on incoming raw materials, WIP, and finished products.
• Store pipe and coupling stock per procedure; assist shipping according to FIFO.
• Protect stock from UV degradation.
• Read dial calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, and PI tapes.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts; weigh/count WIP, finished goods, raw materials, waste, scrap.
• Use a computer to complete forms and arrange shipments.
• Cross-train as Machine Operator or Warehouse Assembler.
• Follow SOPs; maintain safety and 5S standards.
• Report injuries or unsafe conditions; identify non-conforming materials.
• Complete paperwork and inventory documentation; ensure productivity and safety.
