Job summary

Bob’s Discount Furniture is hiring a Returns Material Handler to unload delivered items and organize inventory on the returns floor. You’ll help safely unload merchandise and ensure items are checked in the correct areas.

Ideal candidates bring warehouse experience, ability to operate basic equipment, and comfort with proactive communication. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a warehouse environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends as needed.
• Ability to communicate proactively, read and write clearly, and follow procedures.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Unload returned merchandise from trailers using a hand truck if appropriate.
• Offload onto the Returns floor to the proper checking area.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain inventory by labeling and placing materials in stock and recording locations.

Job Title

Returns Material Handler

Job Overview

The Returns Material Handler is responsible for unloading product deliveries and assisting with organizing and maintaining existing inventory. The Returns Material Handler will work with the team to ensure all returned merchandise is unloaded safely and carefully to avoid injury and product damage. All pieces must be placed on the unloading floor in the proper area for checking. Other responsibilities include:

• Unload returned merchandise from trailers utilizing a hand truck as appropriate.
• Offload onto Returns floor to the proper checking area.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; record locations of inventory.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Starting hourly pay at $17.00 - $19.00/hour (Based on experience)

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a Warehouse environment.

Physical Demands

• Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, push and handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to move throughout all areas of the distribution center.
• Move objects up to 250 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
• Stand and walk continuously to perform job functions.
• Standing, walking, lifting, and arranging product: 90%
• Sitting: 5%
• Desk or phone work: 5%
