Job summary

J&L Building Materials in Yeadon, PA is hiring a Material Handler to support branch operations. You will prepare loads for deliveries, assist customers onsite, and follow safety protocols in a fast-paced warehouse.

The role requires a GED or high school diploma, ability to lift 100 pounds, and forklift experience. Training provided, with full-time hours 6:30 AM–4:30 PM, Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, at least one year related warehouse experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to lift 100 pounds.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, customer tickets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level of customer satisfaction and service.
• Accurately fill customer requests for materials for on-site deliveries and pickups.
• Operate forklift trucks to load/unload/transport materials and perform pre-operational checks.
• Sort and place materials on racks or bins according to size, type, style, color or product code, ensuring proper storage and rotation.
• Maintain safe and efficient warehouse operations by following all safety requirements.
• Participate in physical inventories and cycle counts with emphasis on product identification and accuracy.
• Maintain company equipment and vehicles with proper care and maintenance.
• Be present for at least 40 hours per week during core business hours (6:30 AM – 4:30 PM) with Saturday shifts (6:30 AM – 12:00 PM) after training.
