Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. in Wichita, KS is seeking a warehouse/packing associate to build skids and boxes, operate crosscut saws, nail guns, and banding equipment, and follow AMI packing procedures to prepare orders for shipment.

This role requires HS education or equivalent experience, ability to read safety rules, perform basic math, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. The job is physical, with lifting up to 50 pounds and exposure to loud conditions.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED; or one (1) month related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups.

Responsibilities

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Properly stencils shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.

FUNCTION IN THE JOB

REQUIRED SKILLS
