Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. is a leading supplier of aircraft quality raw material products to aerospace, and a subsidiary of Reliance, Inc. We are hiring for a warehouse/packing role in New Jersey.

The incumbent will prepare orders, pack shipments, inspect quality, and maintain equipment and work areas to meet safety and performance standards. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, basic math and reading skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Language skills: ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Reasoning ability: follow detailed but uninvolved instructions.
• Physical demands: lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Certificates: Forklift Certification preferred.
• Other abilities: ability to work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepares customer orders for shipping and assists production.
• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of orders.
• Operates crosscut saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Performs quality inspections to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks shipments per customer/AMI procedures and requirements.
• Maintains clean work area and keeps records of equipment.

Function in the Job

Job Function

• Prepares customer orders for shipping and helping with production by performing the following essential duties.

  Essential Duties

  • Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
  • Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
  • Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
  • Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
  • Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
  • Properly stencils shipping information as required.
  • Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
  • May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
