Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. is a leading supplier of aircraft quality raw materials for the aerospace industry. The Packaging Associate will prepare customer orders for shipping, build packaging, and inspect orders to ensure 100% quality.

The role requires physical endurance, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Forklift certification is preferred and evening/irregular hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Basic math skills: add/subtract, multiply, divide.

Job Function

Prepares customer orders for shipping and helping with production by performing the following essential duties.

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Properly stencils shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Required Skills

• EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• REASONING ABILITY: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• CERTIFICATES: Forklift Certification, Preferred.
• OTHER ABILITIES: Ability to work irregular hours.
