Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. is seeking a packing/shipping associate to prepare orders for shipment in a manufacturing environment. The role involves building skids, operating saws and fastening tools, and adhering to packing and preservation procedures.

You will perform quality inspections, label shipments, maintain equipment records, and keep a clean, safe workspace while following company safety policies. This is a physically demanding role with potential 50 lb lifts.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience- HS diploma/GED; or one month related experience and/or training.
• Language Skills- ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Mathematical Skills- ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret graphs.
• Reasoning Ability- ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Work Environment- exposure to moving parts, fumes, heat, chemicals and loud noises.
• Physical Demands- frequent lifting, standing, walking, and reaching with hands

Responsibilities

• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Properly stencils shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

FUNCTION IN THE JOB

REQUIRED SKILLS
