Job summary

Berger Transfer & Storage, Inc. in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Warehouse Manager to organize safe, efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.

You will work closely with Local Dispatch and communicate with inbound/outbound drivers to relay shipment details to the Operations team. The role requires 2+ years in shipping/receiving in a distribution center, forklift operation, and familiarity with RF scanners and Windfall.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 2 years shipping/receiving experience in a distribution center environment
• Ability to direct staff and manage labor productivity.
• Material handling equipment knowledge and the ability to operate a forklift
• Understanding of computerized asset management systems, RF scanners, carrier shipping systems (e.g. Windfall)
• Ability to work in a diversified environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of job costing and expense control.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to our team as well as corrective action when warranted.
• Champion for safety in and out of our warehouse.
• Controls workflow.
• Conducts Shift Meetings.
• Schedules employees and is responsible for tracking hours.
• Assists with claims reduction.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and ways to improve productivity.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
