Job summary

Priority Wire and Cable seeks a Warehouse Manager for our Birmingham, AL facility. You will plan, direct and coordinate operations to meet company policies and governmental regulations, with oversight of shipping, receiving, quality control and cycle counts.

We look for strong leadership, the ability to multi-task, and a commitment to safety. You will supervise staff, manage equipment maintenance, and ensure accurate inventory and timely order fulfillment in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4–5 years warehouse experience; wire distribution experience preferred.
• Proficient math skills and computer skills (Word, Excel).
• Must be 18+ years and able to follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate warehouse activities.
• Oversee shipping, receiving, quality control, and cycle counts.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and PPE used.
• Manage purchasing of warehouse supplies and equipment maintenance.

Priority Wire and Cable is in need of a great Warehouse Manager for our Birmingham, AL warehouse. The candidate should possess good management skills, the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities pertaining to the operations of a distribution facility in accordance with company policies, and governmental regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Some of your duties may include:

• Shipping
• Receiving
• Quality Control
• Cycle counts
• Safety procedures
• Equipment Maintenance
• Purchasing warehouse supplies
• You will also need to be able to:
• Lift up to 80 lbs.
• Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
• Use sit down forklifts, dollies, and other equipment to move product within the facility
• Detail-oriented, able to multi-task, with attention to detail
• Work at a fast pace and be flexible to work overtime as needed

What is it like at a Priority Wire and Cable Warehouse?

• Safety - Your safety is important to us, so we provide all employees with proper PPE to complete the task at hand. Monthly meetings are held to review safety protocols and additional topics.
• Surroundings - You will be working around moving machines – order pickers, forklifts, and heavy reels
• Activity - Some activities may require standing and cutting wire in one place for long periods, pushing heavy reels to machines, and getting dirty while working
• Temperature - Non-climate controlled warehouse environment. On a hot day, temperatures can reach up to 90°F in some parts of the warehouse and over 90°F in the truck trailers and containers.
• Noise Level - It can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protective gear if needed.
• Dress code - Relaxed with a few rules to follow for safety. ASTM F2413 approved safety footwear is required. We offer an annual voucher up to 125.00 for safety footwear. Company shirts are provided after the first 90 days.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience
• 4-5 years warehouse experience; wire distribution experience preferred.
• Proficient Math Skills. Proficient Computer skills and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
• Previous Wire & Cable experience is a plus
