Job summary

Priority Wire & Cable is seeking a Warehouse Manager for our Birmingham, AL facility. You will plan, direct, and coordinate distribution operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates have 4–5 years in warehousing, strong math and computer skills, and the ability to lead a busy team, oversee shipping/receiving, and implement safety protocols. Occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 4-5 years warehouse experience; wire distribution experience preferred.
• Proficient Math Skills. Proficient Computer skills and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Candidates must be 18 years or older with ability to understand and follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage 50+ employees.
• Oversee shipping and receiving processes.
• Implement and monitor quality control.
• Conduct cycle counts and inventory accuracy checks.
• Enforce safety procedures and PPE usage.
• Maintain and service warehouse equipment.

Job Overview

Priority Wire and Cable is in need of a great Warehouse Manager for our Birmingham, AL warehouse. The candidate should possess good management skills, the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities pertaining to the operations of a distribution facility in accordance with company policies, and governmental regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Some of your duties may include:

• Managing 50+ employees
• Shipping
• Receiving
• Quality Control
• Cycle counts
• Safety procedures
• Equipment Maintenance
• Purchasing warehouse supplies
• You will also need to be able to:
• Lift up to 80 lbs.
• Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
• Use sit down forklifts, dollies, and other equipment to move product within the facility
• Detail-oriented, able to multi-task, with attention to detail
• Work at a fast pace and be flexible to work overtime as needed

What is it like at a Priority Wire and Cable Warehouse?

• Safety - Your safety is important to us, so we provide all employees with proper PPE to complete the task at hand. Monthly meetings are held to review safety protocols and additional topics.
• Surroundings - You will be working around moving machines – order pickers, forklifts, and heavy reels
• Activity - Some activities may require standing and cutting wire in one place for long periods, pushing heavy reels to machines, and getting dirty while working
• Temperature - Non-climate controlled warehouse environment. On a hot day, temperatures can reach up to 90°F in some parts of the warehouse and over 90°F in the truck trailers and containers.
• Noise Level - It can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protective gear if needed.
• Dress code - Relaxed with a few rules to follow for safety. ASTM F2413 approved safety footwear is required. We offer an annual voucher up to 125.00 for safety footwear. Company shirts are provided after the first 90 days
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience
• 4-5 years warehouse experience; wire distribution experience preferred.
• Proficient Math Skills. Proficient Computer skills and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
• Previous Wire & Cable experience is a plus
