Job summary

Triple-S Steel Supply in San Antonio, TX is seeking a motivated Leadman to supervise warehouse operations. You will ensure order and safety, coordinate with the Warehouse Supervisor, and support daily shipping and receiving tasks.

The role requires hands-on leadership, ability to train staff on will-calls and deliveries, maintain equipment, and uphold Triple-S' safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Safely meet or exceed productivity levels established by the Company.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe methods of work at all times and report unsafe conditions.
• Move steel to/from storage, production areas, loading docks, and vehicles using manual handling, forklift or crane.
• Train new team members on will calls, deliveries, stock checks, and using computers.
• Conduct morning warehouse checks to ensure material safety and unobstructed exits.
• Check and pull will calls and deliver orders.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.

ABOUT THE POSTION:

We areseeking a motivated Leadmanresponsible for supervising and maintain orderin the warehouse. This nonexempt (hourly) position typically reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager. The position requires working in accordance with Triple-S Steel job requirements and Safe Methods of Work. Overtime hours may be required to meet our customers’ needs.

Responsibilities

• Follow Triple-S safe methods of work at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
• Safely and properly move steel to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand, forklift, overhead crane or other equipment. Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift material and guide loads; to climb onto vehicles to tie down and release material being loaded. This is continuous daily activity.
• Train new team members on will calls, deliver orders, check stock, use computers etc.
• Morning walking through the warehouse making sure material is safe on racks and exit doors are not blocked.
• Help check and pull will calls and deliver orders.
• Maintain equipment daily inspections.

Qualifications

• Ability to correctly read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Ability to safely meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company.
• Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision; work alone and in a team environment.
• Ability to develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
• Ability to maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Demonstrate basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• May be required to demonstrate strong customer relations skills.
