Job summary

Triple-S Steel is seeking a Leadman to supervise and maintain order in the warehouse. This hourly, nonexempt role reports to the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager and requires adherence to safety methods, with overtime as needed to meet customer demands.

Responsibilities include moving steel, training associates, and ensuring stock accuracy while coordinating with other departments. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and promote a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Ability to correctly read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Ability to safely meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company.
• Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision; work alone and in a team environment.
• Ability to develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
• Ability to maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Demonstrate basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• May be required to demonstrate strong customer relations skills.

• Follow Triple-S safe methods of work at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
• Safely and properly move steel to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand, forklift, overhead crane or other equipment. Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift material and guide loads; to climb onto vehicles to tie down and release material being loaded. This is continuous daily activity.
• Train new team members on will calls, deliver orders, check stock, use computers etc.
• Morning walking through the warehouse making sure material is safe on racks and exit doors are not blocked.
• Help check and pull will calls and deliver orders.
• Maintain equipment daily inspections.

ABOUT THE POSTION:

We are seeking a motivated Leadman responsible for supervising and maintain order in the warehouse. This nonexempt (hourly) position typically reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager. The position requires working in accordance with Triple-S Steel job requirements and Safe Methods of Work. Overtime hours may be required to meet our customers' needs.
