Job summary

Kenco Logistics is seeking a Warehouse Lead in Portage, MI to coach and develop warehouse associates, including forklift operators, while backing up supervisors as needed. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced distribution setting.

You will train staff, conduct PIT/recertifications, perform cycle counts, complete shipping paperwork, maintain inspections for QA programs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet daily goals and customer

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years prior warehouse/distribution operations experience
• 6 months experience related leadership or supervisory experience
• Must be a licensed forklift operator or able to obtain a Forklift Operator license

Responsibilities

• Train new warehouse associates and forklift drivers and conduct PIT and annual recertification training
• Conduct observations (EIP, performance, and maintenance)
• Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move products for distribution
• Complete shipping/tracking labels and paperwork per SOPs and regulatory agencies
• Participate in inventory/cycle count activities and report variances
• Perform daily forklift safety inspections and keep the facility inspection-ready for SQFI, FDA, and customers
• Communicate and report incidents to supervisor
• Ensure product rotation procedures are followed
• Review and analyze daily production reports
• Serve as backup to other warehouse roles as needed
• Other duties as required by department
