Job summary

Empire Auto Parts, LLC is seeking a Warehouse Lead to supervise daily warehouse activities, coordinate a team of associates, and ensure safe, efficient operations. You will oversee receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping while maintaining strict accuracy and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and inspecting incoming shipments and documenting discrepancies.
  • Store products safely and organize warehouse space.
  • Pick and pack customer orders with accuracy.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely; perform inspections.
  • Lead, coach and motivate a team of warehouse associates.
  • Coordinate order picking, packing, and shipping to meet schedules.
  • Improve warehouse processes and implement best practices.

Job description

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Lead, is a motivated and detail-oriented individual who wants to be a part of our dynamic team. As a Warehouse Lead, will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse. The Warehouse Lead will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse activities, leading a team of warehouse associates, and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the warehouse.

Responsibilities
  • Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments, inspect for accuracy, and document any discrepancies. Ensure all products are in good condition and report any damages or issues.
  • Storage and Organization: Safely and efficiently store products in designated areas, optimizing space utilization and maintaining a well-organized warehouse.
  • Order Picking and Packing: Accurately pick and pack customer orders, ensuring items are properly labeled and prepared for shipment.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure work environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and proficiently. Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Lead, coach, and motivate a team of warehouse associates to achieve operational excellence. Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
  • Order Fulfillment: Coordinate order picking, packing, and shipping processes to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules. Monitor order accuracy and quality standards.
  • Workflow Optimization: Continuously assess and improve warehouse processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. Implement best practices and make recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including logistics, procurement, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluent in workflow with relevant programs and processes.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 60 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Unafraid of heights up to 30ft.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures is a plus.

Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and Carrying: may need to lift and carry heavy objects or boxes. The weight requirements can vary but often involve lifting items weighing up to 60 pounds or more.
  • Standing and Walking: often required to spend a significant amount of time on their feet, walking throughout the warehouse to oversee operations and assist as needed.
  • Bending and Stooping: There may be a need to bend, stoop, or crouch to inspect items, pick up objects, or access lower shelves.
  • Repetitive Movements: The role may involve repetitive tasks such as scanning barcodes, using handheld devices, or packing items, which can require frequent use of hands and wrists.
  • Climbing: may need to climb ladders or stairs to access different levels of inventory or equipment.
  • Driving: operation of forklifts or other motorized equipment, a valid driver's license and the ability to operate such equipment may be required.
  • Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are important for tasks such as inspecting products, handling small parts, and operating machinery.
  • Physical Endurance: The role may involve long hours and physically demanding tasks, so physical stamina and endurance are important.
  • Safety Awareness: must prioritize safety and be aware of potential hazards in the warehouse environment, taking necessary precautions to prevent accidents or injuries.
