Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials Services in Crystal City, Texas seeks a Warehouse Team Lead I to manage the assigned area on the warehouse floor, train staff, and coordinate daily activities to meet customer requirements while complying with quality and safety standards. Oversee inspections, lead by example, ensure safety, and manage up to 15 staff.

Use scanners/tablets for data entry, prepare tools and paperwork, and communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience as a team lead or supervisor is required.
  • Ability to manage a team of up to 15 people.
  • Excellent organizational skills and reliability are essential.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts; including days, afternoons, nights, overtime and weekends.
  • Experience in automotive or industrial settings is an asset and training is possible.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Tean Lead I will manage/coordinate and monitor the activities of the assigned work area. Provide on-the-job training as needed. Interact with the Customer at all levels of Management. Ensure completion of work and customer requirements while complying with all company quality and safety processes. May provide input to the Onsite Manager regarding performance.

Key Accountabilities
  • Oversee the inspection process, and the inspection of customer products for the assigned tables.
  • Lead by example, be organized, and practice good housekeeping skills in all areas of the facility.
  • Ensure all employees work safely and in accordance with company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Report any accidents or incidents that occur within the facility immediately to a supervisor.
  • Responsible for the coordination of shift start activities prior to start time (table requirements, paperwork, and other required duties.
  • Ensure appropriate tools and materials are available for completion of jobs on site.
  • Provide on-the-job training for any new work instructions when applicable.
  • Be accountable for all personnel assigned to specific jobs.
  • Provide input to Onsite Manager regarding completion of objectives and assigned tasks.
  • Report any policy or procedure violations to Onsite Manager.
  • Participate, support and comply with all health and safety initiatives and requirements.
  • Interact with the Customer on a daily/weekly/monthly frequency ensuring complete Customer Satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper and accurate documentation, paperwork is submitted on a daily basis.
  • Ensure appropriate tool kits (Laptop/Printer/Tools), certification stickers, required PPE and materials are available for completion of jobs.
  • Comply with all Customer and tk regulations and work rules.
  • Maintain Customer Site badge access where required.
  • Perform cycle time studies to help supervisor/manager in the quoting of each new job.
  • This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor or around heavy machinery.

  • Previous professional interactions with customers and/or vendors
  • Must read, write and speak basic English
  • Computer literate, able to utilize MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and email software

  • Forklift experience
  • Understanding of measurement units and tolerancing; ability to train others in this area
Job Compensation

Compensation up to $24.00/hour based on experience.
