Job summary

thyssenkrupp is seeking a Dispatcher/Coordinator to thrive in a fast-paced environment and act as the central point for shipments. You will coordinate pickups, communicate with customers, and ensure accurate freight documentation across domestic and international markets.

The role requires attention to detail, strong organization, and a customer-first mindset to keep freight moving. Schedule: Mon-Fri 10:00 AM-7:00 PM with alternating Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and/or 4 years related experience in international transportation, logistics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Prior experience/exposure to domestic and international logistics and transportation.
  • Knowledge of DOT Regulations, US Customs Compliance, C-TPAT, FAST, PIP and/or ACE e-Manifest.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and at a fast pace.
  • Good knowledge of geographical countries to facilitate efficient routing of customer material.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers and vendors professionally.
  • Record and allocate pickup and delivery requests within established countries for all customer freight.
  • Maintain daily entries in freight management systems for domestic and international freight.
  • Maintain complete records for customer billing.
  • Direct dispatch of drivers and vendor drivers.
  • Negotiate pricing with current and potential vendors.
  • Maintain daily contact with vendors to ensure on time delivery of customer freight.
  • Maintain Mexican inventory records for billing accuracy.
  • Continuously increase knowledge of company procedures, products and services.
  • Document, investigate and report damaged customer material to Manager/Supervisor.
  • Maintain metric reports as required by management and/or customers.
  • Proactively seek out new pricing with current vendors.
  • Complete administrative duties timely and accurately.
  • Maintain specified spreadsheets and written/computerized records.

Job Description
Key Accountabilities
  • Communicate with all customers and vendors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Record and allocate all requests for pickup and delivery within the established countries for all customer freight.
  • Maintain daily entry in the respective freight management systems for domestic and international freight.
  • Maintain complete records for customer billing
  • Direct dispatch of drivers and vendor drivers.
  • Negotiation of pricing current and potential vendors.
