Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is hiring an Entry-level Warehouse Helper to support onsite material care and control during construction field activities. You will perform daily warehouse tasks, handle shipments, and assist with loading/unloading at a power plant environment.

Applicants should have prior warehouse exposure in industrial settings, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Warehouse Helper in an industrial setting such as a power plant or similar.
• Ability to understand and communicate written and oral instructions to supervision and team members.
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline and safe use of basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and documentation.
• Prepare daily shipments, pull orders, package, and handle freight/invoice paperwork.
• Palletize, wrap, and deliver orders to designated areas or disciplines.
• Assist in loading/unloading items from trucks and trailers.
• Inspect items for damage or discrepancies; correct shortages.
• Pack/unpack stock and apply labels or stickers.
• Perform onsite warehouse inventories, restocking, and backorder fulfillment.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies and document material shorts.
• Ensure all shipping/receiving documents are accurate and timely.
• Operate forklift or related equipment as needed.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Carry out day to day activities of the warehouse department, which can include shipping and receiving or products and materials, issuing tools, documentation and inventory control
• Selects and prepares daily shipments which may includes pulling orders, packaging, and completing freight/invoice paperwork for freight carriers
• Palletizes and wraps skids and delivers completed orders and packages to designated shipping area and/or deliver to disciplines
• Assists in loading trucks as necessary and unloads received items from trailers
• Examines and inspects items for damage and defects; identifies incorrect/short shipped items
• Packs, unpacks, and marks stock items, using identification labels and stickers
• Perform onsite Warehouse inventories, maintenance and restocking, fill backorders and product bins
• May assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and document material shorts
• Ensure all shipping/receiving documents are completed accurately and on time
• May operate forklift and other equipment – stand-up lift, sit-down lift, propane, scissor, etc

Qualifications

• Experience as a Warehouse Helper in a Power Plant / Industrial setting
• Must possess knowledge skills and abilities for position
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Requirements

• The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
• Must have required tools
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit for duty medical and background check
