Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Abilene, TX seeks an entry-level Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving and inventory control. This role requires basic tools handling and safety awareness in a fast-paced construction site setting.

The position involves loading/unloading, packing, inventory checks, and document accuracy, with potential forklift use and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Training provided for equipment and processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in the chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day to day activities of the warehouse department, including shipping/receiving, issuing tools, documentation and inventory control.
• Selects and prepares daily shipments, pulling orders, packaging, and completing freight/invoice paperwork.
• Palletizes and wraps skids and delivers completed orders to the shipping area or to disciplines.
• Assists in loading trucks and unloads received items from trailers.
• Inspects items for damage or defects and identifies incorrect or short-shipped items.
• Packs, unpacks, and labels stock items.
• Perform onsite warehouse inventories, maintenance and restocking, and fill backorders.
• Assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and document material shorts.
• Ensure all shipping/receiving documents are completed accurately and on time.
• May operate forklift and other equipment (stand-up, sit-down, propane, scissor, etc.).

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Carry out day to day activities of the warehouse department, which can include shipping and receiving or products and materials, issuing tools, documentation and inventory control
• Selects and prepares daily shipments which may includes pulling orders, packaging, and completing freight/invoice paperwork for freight carriers
• Palletizes and wraps skids and delivers completed orders and packages to designated shipping area and/or deliver to disciplines
• Assists in loading trucks as necessary and unloads received items from trailers
• Examines and inspects items for damage and defects; identifies incorrect/short shipped items
• Packs, unpacks, and marks stock items, using identification labels and stickers
• Perform onsite Warehouse inventories, maintenance and restocking, fill backorders and product bins
• May assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and document material shorts
• Ensure all shipping/receiving documents are completed accurately and on time
• May operate forklift and other equipment – stand-up lift, sit-down lift, propane, scissor, etc

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess knowledge skills and abilities for position
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Requirements

• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
