Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an onsite Warehouse Associate in Jewett, TX to support material handling for construction field activities. Responsibilities include shipping/receiving, inventory control, tool issuance and documentation.

You will palletize, wrap, and transport orders, assist loading/unloading, and perform inspections for damage and shortages. This role requires forklift operation and strict adherence to safety and process standards, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in field encouraged.
• Must understand, follow and convey written and verbal instructions.
• Proficient with electrical, hand and power tools and layout tools; measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Selects and prepares daily shipments including pulling orders, packaging, and paperwork for freight carriers.
• Palletizes, wraps, and delivers orders to shipping area or to disciplines; assists loading/unloading.
• Inspects items for damage and shortages; updates stock records and labels items accordingly.
• Conducts onsite warehouse inventories, restocking, and backorders; resolves discrepancies.
• Ensures all shipping/receiving documents are accurate and timely; may operate forklifts and related equipment.
• Estimates sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, and resources needed for tasks.
• Monitors subordinate work for contract compliance and quality; identifies and corrects deficiencies.

Perform onsite Material care, custody and control functions in support of construction field activities. Carry out day to day activities of the warehouse department, which can include shipping and receiving or products and materials, issuing tools, documentation and inventory control

Experience Level

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Selects and prepares daily shipments which may includes pulling orders, packaging, and completing freight/invoice paperwork for freight carriers
• Palletizes and wraps skids and delivers completed orders and packages to designated shipping area and/or deliver to disciplines
• Assists in loading trucks as necessary and unloads received items from trailers
• Examines and inspects items for damage and defects; identifies incorrect/short shipped items
• Packs, unpacks, and marks stock items, using identification labels and stickers
• Perform onsite Warehouse inventories, maintenance and restocking, fill backorders and product bins
• May assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and document material shorts
• Ensure all shipping/receiving documents are completed accurately and on time
• May operate forklift and other equipment – stand-up lift, sit-down lift, propane, scissor, etc
• Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools

Requirements

• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
