Job summary

General Fasteners Company in Portage, MI is hiring a full-time Distribution Associate to join a stable, growing local company. The role involves receiving, picking, packing, and shipping products, maintaining inventory accuracy, and upholding a safe warehouse environment. The 1st Shift runs 6:00AM–2:30PM, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Word.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines.
• Previous warehouse or distribution experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Familiarity with inventory systems and handheld scanners is a plus.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions; good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment following company standards.
• Load and unload delivery trucks using forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Organize stock and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with other general warehouse duties as assigned.
