Kelly Engineering in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Design Engineer to support warehouse automation and intralogistics projects onsite. The role includes developing 2D AutoCAD layouts and collaborating across engineering teams to optimize system performance.

This contract-to-hire opportunity requires 3+ years in design engineering with strong AutoCAD (2D) skills and a system-level perspective. Targeted pay is $29-38+ per hour, depending on qualifications, with onsite work in Buckhead, Atlanta.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field preferred.

Responsabilités

• Develop and refine 2D AutoCAD layouts for automated warehouse and material handling systems.
• Support system design activities from concept development through detailed design and project execution.
• Analyze facility constraints, operational requirements, equipment interfaces, and installation considerations to create effective system layouts.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, integration, and project engineering teams to resolve design challenges and optimize system performance.
• Evaluate layout alternatives and provide recommendations based on engineering, operational, and constructability considerations.
• Coordinate equipment placement, workflow, access requirements, safety zones, and facility infrastructure within system designs.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from engineering and project stakeholders.
• Ensure design documentation meets quality standards and maintain proper revision control throughout the project lifecycle.
