Job summary

Edward Don & Company in New York is seeking a warehouse associate to receive, stock, prep and ship merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas. You will pick items from slots, load trucks and prepare shipments for freight lines.

The role requires forklift/pallet jack operation, RF/Voice pick devices and the ability to lift 40–60 pounds repeatedly. A stable full-time schedule with overtime is expected, with knowledge of SAP preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a functional capacity test.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm quantity and unit of measure.
• Load merchandise into appropriate truck.
• Drop merchandise for reserve to pick slots.
• Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines.
• Repack loose merchandise for shipping/delivery.
• Verify quality of product, packaging and vendor compliance.
• Adhere to Warehouse Labor Standard, 'Preferred Method Standard'.
• Identify and report slot and put-away problems.
• Shrink wrap merchandise/pallets after picking as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Sun-Thu 5:00pm - finish, 8+ hour shift, OT mandatory

Summary

Responsible for receiving, stocking, preparation and shipping of merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas.

Essential Duties

• Accurately select/pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm the correct quantity and unit of measure.
• Load Merchandise into appropriate truck.
• Drop merchandise for "reserve" to "pick" slots.
• Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines.
• Repack loose merchandise for shipping/delivery.
• Verify quality of product, packaging and adherence to vendor compliance policy.
• Accurately adhere to Warehouse Labor Standard, “Preferred Method Standard”.
• Identify and report slot and put-away problems.
• Shrink wrap merchandise/pallets after picking as needed.
• Performs house keeping duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

The ideal Candidate will have ability to:

• Operate forklift/pallet jack and cherry picker.
• Lift 40-60 pounds repeatedly each shift.
• Bend, stoop, climb, stand and twist for extended periods of time.
• Successfully complete forklift training/certification requirements.
• Operate a Radio Frequency (RF) or Voice Pick devices.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Job is performed in a warehouse/operations environment.
• Frequently exposed to fast-moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment.
• This is a full-time position.
• Must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays.
• Work hours may vary or change based on customer orders, departmental or business requirements.
• The position does not require travel.
