Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc in New Jersey is seeking a warehouse associate to receive, stock, pick and ship merchandise locally and to nearby areas. You will operate forklifts or pallet jacks, verify quantities, and prepare shipments for distribution.

The ideal candidate can lift 40–60 pounds repeatedly, stand for long periods, and pass a functional capacity test. Work hours are Sun-Thu 5:00 pm–1:30 am with occasional overtime; some holidays may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience with SAP and warehouse tools preferred.
• Forklift certification and ability to operate pallet jacks and reach trucks encouraged.

$22.69 +shift differential +increase every 6 months, up to $26.62

Sun-Thu 5:00p - 1:30am or finished, up to 2 hours/day OT

SUMMARY

Responsible for receiving, stocking, preparation and shipping of merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The ideal Candidate will have the ability to operate forklift/pallet jack and cherry picker; ability to lift 40-60 pounds repeatedly each shift, ability to bend, stoop, climb, stand and twist for extended periods of time; ability to successfully complete forklift training/certification requirements; and ability to operate a Radio Frequency (RF) or Voice Pick devices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Accurately select/pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm the correct quantity and unit of measure.

• Load Merchandise into appropriate truck.

• Drop merchandise for "reserve" to "pick" slots.

• Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines.

• Repack loose merchandise for shipping/delivery.

• Verify quality of product, packaging and adherence to vendor compliance policy.

• Accurately adhere to Warehouse Labor Standard, “Preferred Method Standard”.

• Identify and report slot and put-away problems.

• Shrink wrap merchandise/pallets after picking as needed.

• Performs house keeping duties as assigned.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Preferred qualifications are: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Previous knowledge of SAP, one year warehouse experience and previous forklift certification.

Experience

• 6 months of previous warehouse experience and/or training preferred.

• Material handling equipment experience preferred.

• Reach truck experience a plus.

Requirement

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must pass a functional capacity test.

Work Environment

• Frequently exposed to fast-moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment.

• This is a full-time position.

• Work hours may vary or change based on customer orders, departmental or business requirements.

• The position does not require travel.
