Job summary

Edward Don & Company is seeking a warehouse picker to receive, stock, prepare, and ship merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas. Schedule is Mon-Fri 7:00am–3:30pm with OT as needed. Ability to operate forklift/pallet jack and RF devices is required.

Ideal candidates can lift 40–60 pounds repeatedly, bend, stoop, climb, stand, and pass forklift training. Prior SAP knowledge and forklift cert are advantages.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. forklift certification preferred.
• Knowledge of SAP and warehouse processes is a plus.
• 6 months of warehouse experience preferred; forklift certification beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm quantity.
• Load merchandise into the correct truck for shipment.
• Prepare merchandise for shipment on freight lines.
• Repack loose merchandise for shipping and delivery.
• Verify product quality and adherence to vendor policy.
• Identify and report slot/put-away problems.
• Shrink wrap pallets after picking as needed.
• Perform housekeeping tasks as assigned.

Responsible for receiving, stocking, preparation and shipping of merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

The ideal Candidate will have the ability to operate forklift/pallet jack and cherry picker; ability to lift 40-60 pounds repeatedly each shift, ability to bend, stoop, climb, stand and twist for extended periods of time; ability to successfully complete forklift training/certification requirements; and ability to operate a Radio Frequency (RF) or Voice Pick devices.

Essential Duties

• Accurately select/pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm the correct quantity and unit of measure.
• Load Merchandise into appropriate truck.
• Drop merchandise for "reserve" to "pick" slots.
• Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines.
• Repack loose merchandise for shipping/delivery.
• Verify quality of product, packaging and adherence to vendor compliance policy.
• Accurately adhere to Warehouse Labor Standard, "Preferred Method Standard".
• Identify and report slot and put-away problems.
• Shrink wrap merchandise/pallets after picking as needed.
• Performs house keeping duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• Preferred qualifications are: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Previous knowledge of SAP, one year warehouse experience and previous forklift certification.

Experience

• 6 months of previous warehouse experience and/or training preferred.
• Material handling equipment experience preferred.
• Reach truck experience a plus.

Requirement

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a functional capacity test.
