What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health: Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment, including warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, inventory management, demand, supply, and manufacturing planning.
Job Summary: The Assoc II, Warehouse Ops, assists with inbound or outbound activities as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor, meeting quality, safety, productivity, and operational standards. This role involves receiving products in the inbound section and shipping products in the outbound section.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift, and stand for the entire shift.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort working at heights of 20-30 feet regularly.
- Previous material handling equipment experience (PIT) preferred.
- RF scanner and/or voice picking experience highly preferred.
- Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice.
- Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and rotate through various warehouse areas.
Responsibilities:
- Follow SOPs to process orders, including picking, quality checks, sorting, consolidating freight, pallet building, wrapping, packing, loading, and shipment preparation.
- Follow directions and adapt to changing priorities while working independently or as part of a team.
- Pick large case items with equipment or small items and place on designated carts.
- Cross-train in multiple warehouse areas and participate in projects.
- Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) for product check-in/out.
- Operate material handling equipment such as order pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, turret trucks, pallet jacks, and walkie riders.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including housekeeping and inventory control tasks.
- Handle routine issues and participate in team meetings, communicating concerns to management.
- Adhere to safety regulations and wear required PPE such as steel-toed shoes and safety harnesses, complying with Cardinal Health’s EHS and QRA policies.
