Job summary

TW Metals, LLC is a leading specialty metals distributor seeking an operations employee at our Georgia facility. You will assist with material handling, order fulfillment, and general operations to support a fast-paced warehouse.

Responsibilities include operating cutting equipment and forklifts, verifying specifications, documenting data in ERP, and maintaining safety and quality in daily processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in learning and safely operating powered industrial equipment and cutting tools.
• Proficient reading tape measures, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
• Basic math using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to learn ERP system and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Safely prepare, stage, and organize materials for distribution.
• Fill sales orders by pulling materials from stock.
• Verify material specs, quantities, dimensions, and record in ERP.
• Operate cutting equipment (Chop Saw, Band Saw, Plate Saw, Shear, Waterjet, Laser).
• Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move materials.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain quality; keep area tidy.
• Support department tasks to ensure smooth workflow.

General Position Description

Operations employee with a general focus on all operations activities.

Responsibilities

• Material Handling & Staging: Safely prepare, stage, and organize materials for distribution, including deburring, packing, receiving, and shipping.
• Order Fulfillment: Pull materials from stock and accurately fill sales orders.
• Verification & Documentation: Confirm material specifications, quality, quantity, dimensions, and tolerances; record information in ERP system or job tickets.
• Machine Operation: Operate cutting equipment such as Chop Saw, Band Saw, Plate Saw, Shear Machine, Waterjet, and Laser Machine to process materials per work orders.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate powered industrial equipment (forklift, side loader, Combilift, overhead crane and order pickers) to move and stage materials.
• Quality & Safety: Follow all safety protocols and maintain quality standards during material handling and machine operation. Maintains a clean and well organized work area.
• General Operations Support: Assist with department clean-up, routine equipment checks, and other tasks to ensure smooth workflow.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1–3 months of related experience or training required.
• Equipment & Machine Skills: Ability to learn and safely operate powered industrial equipment and cutting equipment.
• Measurement Skills: Proficient in reading tape measures, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
• Math Skills: Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Technical Skills: Ability to learn and navigate an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and apply logical problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, and kneel as required throughout the shift.
• Frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift and move up to 100 lbs with assistance while following all safety guidance.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception, with or without corrective lenses.
• Work in a warehouse setting with moving equipment, varying temperatures, dust, and noise.
• PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe shoes are required on a continuous basis, or as defined by the role needs or safety guidelines.
