Job summary

TW Metals, an O'Neal Industries affiliate, is a leading global distributor of specialty metals with extensive stocking locations. We seek an Operations employee to support material handling, order fulfillment, and equipment operation in a fast-paced warehouse.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 months of related experience or training required.
  • Ability to learn and safely operate powered industrial equipment and cutting equipment.
  • Proficient in reading tape measures, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to learn and navigate an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and apply logical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Material Handling & Staging: Safely prepare, stage, and organize materials for distribution, including deburring, packing, receiving, and shipping.
  • Order Fulfillment: Pull materials from stock and accurately fill sales orders.
  • Verification & Documentation: Confirm material specifications, quality, quantity, dimensions, and tolerances; record information in ERP system or job tickets.
  • Machine Operation: Operate cutting equipment such as Chop Saw, Band Saw, Plate Saw, Shear Machine, Waterjet, and Laser Machine to process materials per work orders.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate powered industrial equipment (forklift, side loader, Combilift, overhead crane and order pickers) to move and stage materials.
  • Quality & Safety: Follow all safety protocols and maintain quality standards during material handling and machine operation. Maintains a clean and well organized work area.
  • General Operations Support: Assist with department clean-up, routine equipment checks, and other tasks to ensure smooth workflow.

General Position Description:

Operations employee with a general focus on all operations activities.

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, and kneel as required throughout the shift.

  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Work in a warehouse setting with moving equipment, varying temperatures, dust, and noise.
  • PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe shoes are required on a continuous basis, or as defined by the role needs or safety guidelines.
