Job summary

TW Metals, a leader in specialty metals distribution, seeks an Operations employee to support all warehouse activities. You will safely handle, stage, and move materials, help fulfill orders, and verify specifications using an ERP system.

Training provided for equipment like chop saws, band saws, waterjet, and laser machines, plus forklift and overhead crane operations. You will work in a team to maintain safety and quality, perform basic measurements, and help with general operations tasks to

Qualifications

• 1–3 months of related experience or training required.
• Ability to learn and safely operate powered industrial equipment and cutting equipment.
• Proficient in reading tape measures, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
• Basic math skills including fractions and decimals; ability to perform basic calculations.
• Ability to learn and navigate an ERP system.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and apply problem-solving skills.

• Safely prepare, stage, and organize materials for distribution, including deburring, packing, receiving, and shipping.
• Pull materials from stock and accurately fill sales orders.
• Confirm material specifications, quality, quantity, dimensions, and tolerances; record information in ERP system or job tickets.
• Operate cutting equipment to process materials per work orders.
• Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move and stage materials.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain quality standards during material handling and machine operation.
• Assist with department clean-up, routine equipment checks, and other tasks to ensure smooth workflow.

General Position Description:

Operations employee with a general focus on all operations activities.

Responsibilities:

Key tasks may include:

• Material Handling & Staging: Safely p repare, stage, and organize materials for distribution, including deburring, packing, receiving, and shipping.
• Order Fulfillment: Pull materials from stock and accurately fill sales orders.
• Verification & Documentation: Confirm material specifications, quality, quantity, dimensions, and tolerances; record information in ERP system or job tickets.
• Machine Operation: Operate cutting equipment such as Chop Saw, Band Saw, Plate Saw, Shear Machine, Waterjet, and Laser Machine to process materials per work orders.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate powered industrial equipment (forklift, side loader, Combilift, overhead crane and order pickers) to move and stage materials.
• Quality & Safety: Follow all safety protocols and maintain quality standards during material handling and machine operation. Maintains a clean and well organized work area.
• General Operations Support: Assist with department clean-up, routine equipment checks, and other tasks to ensure smooth workflow.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1–3 months of related experience or training required.
• Equipment & Machine Skills: Ability to learn and safely operate powered industrial equipment and cutting equipment.
• Measurement Skills: Proficient in reading tape measures, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
• Math Skills: Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Technical Skills: Ability to learn and navigate an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and apply logical problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, and kneel as required throughout the shift.
• Frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift and move up to 100 lbs with assistance while following all safety guidance.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception, with or without corrective lenses.
• Work in a warehouse setting with moving equipment, varying temperatures, dust, and noise.
• PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe shoes are required on a continuous basis, or as defined by the role needs or safety guidelines.
