Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Facility Administrator (NS) at Anson Correctional Institution, Polkton, NC. The role leads operations in a medium/close custody facility, including custody, programs, food service, administration, and maintenance.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of supervisory or administrative experience in corrections, with eligibility for NC CJ Education & Training Standards certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and four years of supervisory, administrative, or consultative experience in corrections or related work (or an equivalent combination).
• Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
• Criminal background check, negative drug screening, and medical/psych evaluations required.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Administer policies and procedures for daily operation of a medium/close custody facility (custody, programs, food service, administration, maintenance).
• Direct planning, direction, and management of services and offender population at Anson Correctional Institution.
• Set goals and priorities for each component and implement changes as needed.
• Oversee hiring, discipline, coaching and training of staff.
