Job summary

Adult Correction seeks an Administrative Officer I at Wilkes Correctional Center in North Wilkesboro, NC. The role coordinates business and HR functions, oversees budgets, procurement, and staff, and ensures compliance with policies and state regulations.

You will report to the Warden I and supervise administrative personnel, participate in management meetings, and support facility operations with strong decision-making and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in HR, budgeting, research or admin management.
• Documented knowledge of HR policies and accounting principles.
• Knowledge of modern office procedures and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees facility administrative operations including budget, procurement and inventory.
• Supervises administrative staff, assigns work and conducts performance evaluations.
• Ensures compliance with DAC guidelines and state regulations.
• Prepares and monitors the facility operating budget and reporting controls.
• Provides guidance to the management team on administrative, financial, and operational matters.
