The State of North Carolina's Department of Adult Correction seeks a Correctional Facility Superintendent II to oversee Franklin Correctional Center in Bunn, NC. You will manage custody, food service, programs, administration, and maintenance, directing staff and resources to ensure safe, secure operations and compliance with state policies.

Responsibilities include setting facility goals, supervising 175 staff, and coordinating with the Central Region; exerts leadership in offender management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of supervisory, administrative, or consultative experience in corrections or related work; or
  • High school or GED diploma and four years of supervisory experience at or above the Correctional Captain level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administer established policies and procedures for the daily operation of a medium custody correctional facility (Custody, Programs, Food service, Administration, Maintenance).
  • Directly manage planning, directing, and overall operations of these services and the offender population.
  • Set goals and priorities for facility components and modify as needed; develop internal policies/guidelines.
  • Hire, discipline, coach and train employees; coordinate and direct line staff across all prison areas.
  • Report to the Assistant Region Director in the Central Region; oversee 175 full-time staff and up to 480 male offenders.
