Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to implement and manage Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions, protecting client applications from cyber threats. You will monitor traffic, analyze security events, and respond to incidents to mitigate risks, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture using Cloudflare, Imperva, and Terraform.

The role requires 3-5 years in web application security operations with hands-on WAF experience and familiarity with ITIL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in web application security operations, focusing on WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with WAF solutions such as Cloudflare and Imperva is required.
• Proficiency with infrastructure automation using Terraform preferred.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems for incident management.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimize WAF solutions to establish security controls for web applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls to ensure proper function.
• Monitor application traffic and security events to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Perform root-cause analysis and remediation of security incidents.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and respond to incidents promptly.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules, and documentation to align with best practices.
• Support security audits and assessments to ensure compliance.
• Stay updated on emerging threats and security technologies to enhance security posture.
• Utilize WAF solutions such as Cloudflare and Imperva for implementation and management.
• Leverage Terraform for IaC to automate deployment and management of WAF solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers on WAF management and incident response processes.
