Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to configure and maintain web application firewalls for client applications. You will monitor traffic, analyze security events, and respond to incidents to mitigate risks while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve security posture.

You will leverage Cloudflare and Imperva across projects, automate deployments with Terraform, and support audits and change requests in a fast-paced cybersecurity environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in web application security operations, focusing on WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with WAF solutions such as Cloudflare and Imperva is required.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation is preferred.
• Strong understanding of web app protocols, security principles, and best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems for incident management.
• Certs like CISSP or Security+ are a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimize WAF solutions for web applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls.
• Monitor application traffic and security events to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze security incidents and perform root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and respond to incidents.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules, and documentation.
• Support security audits and assessments and promote policy adherence.
• Stay current with emerging threats and technologies to enhance security posture.
• Utilize WAF solutions like Cloudflare and Imperva for implementation and management.
• Leverage Terraform for IaC to automate deployment and management of WAFs.
• Mentor junior engineers on WAF management and incident response processes.
