Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to implement and manage Web Application Firewalls for client applications, helping secure web assets and data. You will configure, monitor, and optimize WAFs, respond to incidents, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen security across environments.

You will leverage Cloudflare and Imperva, drive IaC with Terraform, and mentor junior engineers while delivering timely resolutions and secure configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity or a related field.
• 3–5 years in web app security operations with a focus on WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare and Imperva.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management.
• Certifications such as CISSP or Security+ are a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimize WAF solutions to protect web applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls.
• Monitor application traffic and security events for threats and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze security incidents and perform root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and respond to incidents.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules, and documentation.
• Support security audits and assessments and ensure policy adherence.
• Stay current with emerging threats and technologies to improve security posture.
• Utilize WAF solutions including Cloudflare and Imperva for implementation and management.
• Use Terraform IaC to automate deployment and management of WAFs.
• Mentor junior engineers on WAF management and incident response.
